NBM Education Programs

Neuro-Biomechanics (NBM) is currently developing a series of educational programs for coaches, trainers, and movement professionals who want to better understand the relationship between the nervous system, movement, and physical performance.

These courses will combine sports science principles with practical coaching tools, helping professionals improve movement quality, reduce injury risk, and optimize training outcomes.

NBM Education Programs

What is Neuro-Biomechanics?

Neuro-Biomechanics studies how the nervous system and the musculoskeletal system work together to control human movement.

Human movement is not determined only by muscle strength or joint mobility. The nervous system constantly receives information from sensory receptors in muscles, joints, and skin, and uses this information to regulate posture, stability, and muscle activation.

When this system is disturbed by pain, injury, or altered sensory input, the nervous system may change how muscles work, leading to:

  • Muscle inhibition
  • Compensatory movement patterns
  • Reduced stability
  • Decreased movement efficiency
  • Increased injury risk

Understanding these mechanisms helps coaches identify and correct movement problems that traditional training methods may overlook.

NBM Education Programs

The NBM Methodology

The Neuro-Biomechanics system used in these courses is based on three main steps:

Assessment

Identifying movement limitations and neuromuscular dysfunction through posture analysis, movement evaluation, and manual muscle testing.

2

Neuromuscular Activation

Restoring proper muscle activation and coordination through targeted corrective exercises and stabilization techniques.

3

Functional Integration

Integrating improved neuromuscular control into functional movement and training programs to improve performance and reduce injury risk.
